Date: October 28 & 29, 2006
Place: Rickmansworth, England
Another
successful world cup for the KOA. 50 people battled
for the title this year, and despite the absence
of the three times winner Gianluca, it was not
going to be easy as most of the Kick Off top
guns were there.
Before the semi-finals began, it looked like the title was going to Italy
for the fourth consecutive time, as three out of the four semi-finalists
were Italians. However, Spyros Paraschis had not said his last word, and
managed to win the title after an amazing performance! He defeated Mario
Fichera in the final, while the big favourite of the tournament Gianni Torchio
settled for the bronze medal and the Top Scorer trophy. James Beard won
the Best Defense award. This was the first world cup in which female players
participated: Astrid and Saskia Bouten returned home with everyone's respect
and a lot of experience.

Note: The 50 players were divided into
two groups of 13 and two groups of 12. The top four players from each
group qualified to Round 2, those who finished in places 5-8 competed for
places 17-32, while those who finished in places 9-13 competed for places
33-50.
