Date: November 10 & 11, 2007
Place: Rome, Italy
Three years
after the World Cup in Milan, the KOA returned
to Italy, this time in Rome. 40 players
participated in the tournament.
Perhaps it was fate that decided that Gianluca's dominance would end in his
own hometown. Spyros Paraschis once again found himself against three
Italians in the semi-finals, and once again he managed to triumph, this
time without losing a single match. In the final, he defeated
Gianni Torchio who became the first player to lose two Kick Off 2 World
Cup
finals.
Gianni was
also
the
Top Scorer
of
the
competition,
while Gianluca Troiano settled for the bronze medal and the Best Defense
award.
Note: The 40 players were divided into
four groups of 10. The top four players from each
group qualified to Round 2, those who finished in places 5-8 competed for
places 17-32, while those who finished in places 9-10 faced each other in
a league for places 33-50.
Note that Mark B did not show up for the 2nd day of the tournament, and his
matches were forfeited by 0-2.
